THIS YEAR

When we sit down and think about where this year went, we don't have an immediate answer. It truly flew by faster than any other! Amidst the craziness of bouncing around the midwest to photograph weddings & engagements, we also had some pretty awesome milestones in our personal lives!! Parker James joined our little family on Valentine's Day and he has since been the source of 90% of our smiles! Not long after we became puppy parents, we decided that our little man needed a house! After years of searching for the perfect one, we purchased our first home at the very beginning of wedding season in May. Upon further review, this may not have been the most ideal time to move and make our new house a home, but we wouldn't have it any other way!! We tend to dive in head first and follow our hearts without looking back -- that is exactly how we decided to take our photography business full-time four years ago, and apparently how we make all major life decisions ;)

We also tend to pour our hearts into our photography. The connections we make with the remarkable couples who come our way make it especially easy to get wrapped up in the emotions of their day and be completely invested in them! This year brought so much clarity and change into the way we are photographing weddings, engagements and portraits alike. Falling in love with film all over again has revolutionized our hearts and our business, and for this we couldn't possibly be more grateful!! 2012 really was a giant leap for us, our business, and our little family of three. The relationships & friendships we've made this year alone make us feel absolutely blessed to do what we do, and we cannot even wait to see all of the goodness that 2013 has lined up!!!!

WISCONSIN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY | ADYSEN ON FILM

Lucky. That is exactly how the honor of photographing our wedding couples growing families makes us feel! Debbie & Jamie celebrated their marriage last July at one of our personal favorites, the Great Hall on ARTSblock, and when we met them for dinner this spring we were ecstatic to hear that they were expecting! If there's one thing we knew to be true, it's that these two would make amazing parents. Fast forward to late fall when they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Adysen. Just before the holidays kicked into full swing they invited us into their (beautiful!) home for a lifestyle newborn session. The real-life documentary approach to newborns is something we also feel very connected to, and the images we created with them feel so real because they are just that! We couldn't be more thrilled to share with you Jamie & Debbie's sweet girl Adysen! Love | K&B

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Here we sit in our sun room office, Christmas mug coffee in hand, our holiday playlist cycling through on Spotify, and the distant sound of Parker squeaking a new lion toy from one of our sweet 2013 wedding couples' gifts (thanks for the added squeaks this holiday season, Jamie & Seth!). The sun is pouring in, our tree is lit, stockings hung, and we are just plain EXCITED! Isn't this the best time of the year?!! :) We're looking forward to driving our sleigh all around the state of Wisconsin to visit with as much family as possible and introduce Parker to his first Christmas, but must admit that we are also grateful to have today to finish our wrapping before the holiday kicks in ;) We'll be back with a little end-of-the-year post after filling our bellies & hearts with lots of holiday laughter & yummy treats, but first wanted to wish each of you a Wonderfully Merry Christmas!!!! We thought, what better way to do that than with our holiday card! :)

Earlier this year Anna & I brewed up a little styled shoot on a very snowy morning, and together we swooned over sweet coral hues & adorably stacked waffles! We truly had no idea where this inspiration would lead us, so you can imagine our excitement when the lovely ladies of Southern Weddings not only wanted to feature images from our inspiration shoot on their blog, but also one of the portraits in their stunning magazine!! If we're being honest, we are both quite southern at heart and felt like this was truly the perfect fit for our little brunch wedding :) In case you haven't gotten your hands on a copy of SWV5 make sure to hop on over to Target or Barnes & Noble right away, and get ready to fall in love with every single page of pretty!! There is so much inspiration & genuine content in this issue and you can absolutely tell that the ladies behind the magazine poured themselves into each and every page! SNOWY WAUSAU ENGAGEMENT ON FILM | JEN & ROB

You guys! We are giddy-excited to share Jen & Rob's engagement session with you!! These two are so full of JOY that it is impossible not to constantly smile and laugh when you're around them! Together, Jen & Rob absolutely shine. And even on a crazy foggy and snowy day at the top of Rib Mountain, they were two of the most adorable people we have ever photographed :) Rib Mountain is an especially meaningful spot for these two and we cannot wait to be a part of their ceremony in this very spot in August!
