PORTRAITS OF APRIL

Let us start by saying how awesome this girl is!! We always love connecting with photographers and earlier this month had the pleasure of spending the day with April, an incredibly talented photographer based in Madison – You can find her capturing joy over at April Violet Photography! 

We were truly honored when she came to visit us in Wausau and SO enjoyed sharing everything there is to share about our love of film photography!! There's something about chatting with an artist who shares your passion that just lights a fire within you and, although she was here to learn more about film, we feel so lucky to have learned from her as well.

Thank you, April!! We are excited to see your journey with film continue, and Parker is hoping you come back to visit soon (the moment she arrived, he promptly jumped up into her lap)! ;)

DOOR COUNTY FAMILY PORTRAITS | THE McBRIANs

These four :) While vacationing in Door County last week with Stevi, Charles, Charlie & Leo, we snuck them out for a family portrait session along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan!! The first spot we found was a little crazy with giant crashing waves and huge gusts of wind coming off the lake, but WOW did it make for some energy-filled portraits! Next we went to a perfectly sunny, tucked-away gem of a spot and slowed things down with cozy portraits, tickle tortures, and so much laughter.

Stevi & Charles were married this April in Carmel, California and we had the pleasure of standing up in their bridal party while our dear friend, Laura Ivanova captured their wedding celebration perfectly. :) Seeing them now as a family of four made for such a wonderful week spent in charming Door County! Clearly these four know how to have fun, and it was a blast capturing them together as a family!!

DOOR COUNTY MATERNITY PORTRAITS | ANNA & PAUL

Seeing our dearest friends grow their family from two to three is something that makes us smile so big!! Anna & Paul are expecting their little Mister to arrive in September, and anyone who knows them would be quick to agree that they are going to be amazing parents!

Earlier this month while the four of us were celebrating the 4th of July in beautiful Door County, we headed out with our cameras and spent the evening photographing Anna & Paul along the water. Lake Michigan has a way of looking like we were photographing in the Caribbean, and it served as the most beautiful of backdrops for some of our favorite people in the world. :) A simple organic floral crown made by Helen at Flora Flowershop added just the right amount of 'pop' to Anna, a radiant & joyful Mommy-to-be with the most perfect baby bump! As always, Paul's ability to make Anna smile & laugh didn't fail us for a second!

GREEN BAY NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY | THE LARSEN FAMILY

There are few words that truly encompass the amazing feeling of documenting so many special moments for one of our favorite couples over the course of just five years. Since 2010, we have had the absolute honor of photographing Kim while she was Miss Wisconsin, her and Stew's engagement session & Door County wedding, their first-born's newborn session & family portraits, and NOW, their second little lady's newborn photos!!

Kim & Stew have been blessed with two beautiful girls, Maggie & Annie, and just two weeks ago we spent the afternoon with them at their gorgeous home in Green Bay. When we arrived Maggie was watching the Sound of Music, mac & cheese was on the menu for lunch, and miss Annie was a peaceful sweetheart taking everything in! :) Kim & Stew gave us an afternoon filled with smiles and adorable moments, and Annie's crystal-clear blue eyes were enough to melt us on the spot! We couldn't be happier for this family of FOUR! :)

Sara & Brian and their little cuties, Lennon & Penelope, make up one of the sweetest families we know, and we are lucky to not only take their picture but to call them dear friends as well! Lennon wanted to have his hands in the sand the whole session (such a boy!), and Ellie's toothy smile had us both giggling behind our cameras! Playing near the water with this smiley family of four as the sun dipped down ... It really doesn't get any better than that!!
