PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY IN 2014

Can you believe we're already nearly TWO weeks into the new year?! Where has the time gone? We've been pouring through images we captured last year for our wonderful clients and are very excited to share with you three 2014 recaps for portrait, engagement and wedding photography! Let's start things off with some of our favorite portraits captured throughout the last year, shall we? :) Many of the adorable faces you see here are sweet families who we have had the honor of photographing several times throughout the last few years and for that we are INCREDIBLY thankful!!

To our portrait clients: It is an absolute blessing building relationships with you and your family. Seeing you grow together inspires us to capture your little ones just as they are today so you can look back at the images we create together for YEARS to come. WAUSAU FAMILY PORTRAITS | THE GASSNER FAMILY

The Gassner kids gifted their Mom & Dad a family portrait session for Christmas last year, and we were absolutely thrilled when they invited us to their GORGEOUS property for the shoot just after the holidays! When the day of their session arrived, the sun was bursting through snow-covered evergreens and our eyes were exploding as we made our way through acres and acres of winter wonderland. Never mind the fact that it was quite chilly as well, because we felt so inspired and excited!! The laughter that filled the woods with the Gassner family was enough to keep us warm in single digits for hours! Several trips back inside for outfit changes and fireside warm-ups helped too. ;) 

We were lucky enough to photograph Kayla & Alex's beautiful Minnesota wedding in 2012 and think the world of their family, so naturally we couldn't wait to spend the afternoon with them out in the snow!! :)

Thank you guys for being such troopers and for sharing your lovely home with us for the day! We had so much fun with you all and hope you enjoy these images!

The day after Thanksgiving we had the pleasure of photographing the McCool family in their beautiful home here in Wausau. Hank and Jack (the cutest twins on the planet!) stole our hearts immediately and we so enjoyed photographing this wonderful family!

LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSION | LITTLE MISS HENRIETTA

There's no question about it: it is a GIANT honor to photograph a soon-to-be Mr & Mrs' engagement session and wedding celebration! But, you know what we consider the biggest honor of all? Being asked to photograph the next steps as our bride & grooms' families grow. :) Needless to say, when Jody & Chris reached out to us about newborn photography for their upcoming baby McGinley, we were beside ourselves!!

On a snowy morning we made our way over to Minneapolis to capture this new family of three (five, with their two pups!) and we could not wait to meet their new little lady, Henrietta Louise, on her 12th day of life. While capturing adorable & petite Henrietta, we couldn't help but smile at her big yawns, long legs, amazing hair, and sweet eyes. Seeing Jody & Chris as Mom & Dad warmed our hearts, as it feels like just yesterday we photographed their 2010 wedding and now they have this beautiful bundle of joy to shape their lives around!! :)

Jody & Chris, thank you SO much for inviting us into your home to capture such special moments and create these images together! We loved seeing you and hope you adore this session as much as you do Henrietta Louise!!

DOOR COUNTY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | SMITH FAMILY

When we arrived to Carrie and Nate's home in beautiful Door County, Nora & Camilla were adorably dressed in the most perfect fall-meets-winter ivory sweater dresses, the fireplace was roaring inside, and the field next to their home was absolutely glowing. So, as you might imagine, we were VERY excited to be taking pictures in this very spot, on this very day, with this wonderful family!

Just hours before Door County's first snowfall, Nora & Camilla were the cutest little troopers in the world and they had nothing but smiles & giggles to share with us! With a few warm-up breaks, lots of gorgeous light and a touch of simple yet rustic styling, we had a blast with this family of four. :)

Carrie, thank you so much for choosing us to photograph your family!! It was such an honor and we cannot wait for the next chance to spend time with your sweet family (as well as, of course, photograph the beautiful weddings you help bring to life)!
