LAKE SUPERIOR MICHIGAN ENGAGEMENT | KIRSTEN & GENE

As a nursing student, Kirsten met Gene's sister who thought that she hands down must meet her brother, Gene. K&G ended up chatting on the phone for three hours!! Since Gene was living in Indianapolis at the time, Kirsten took a weekend trip to visit him with the mentality that if things weren't going as expected, she could always stay with her cousin ;) Lucky for the two of them, they hit it off right away and were engaged six months later! Truly, Gene bought Kirsten's ring on a Saturday and his sister wanted to see it so he brought it home with him for Thanksgiving weekend and then realized... what is the point in waiting any longer to put this on Kirsten's finger?! Of course she said yes, and we are SO excited to be a part of their Wausau wedding this August!

Kirsten & Gene are both super mellow and easy going with a great sense of humor, and we were pumped when they invited us up to Ontonagon MI (Gene's hometown!) for their engagement session on Lake Superior with s'mores, snuggling, and a perfect campfire on the beach!! :)

WISCONSIN SPRING MATERNITY PORTRAITS | SARA & BRIAN

You might remember Sara from her stunning snowy maternity session earlier this year :) Last weekend we had the opportunity to photograph two of our very best friends during an incredible time in their lives!  And this time around, we wanted to include Sara's darling hubby Brian and adorable pug pup Lucy! Sara and Brian are due with baby Lennon in TWO weeks and we are completely bursting with excitement for them!!!!!! It feels like that Sunday morning when they told us they were pregnant was just yesterday... now they've created the worlds cutest nursery for Lennon and their bags are packed & ready to welcome an undoubtedly adorable bundle of joy into their lives! We cannot WAIT to meet, love on, snuggle with, and of course photograph baby Lennon as soon as he arrives!!! Sara & Brian, you two are the BEST friends we could ask for and we feel so blessed to have you in our lives!! XOXO! :D

SPRING WISCONSIN ENGAGEMENT | AMY & JESS

From the very first time we chatted with Amy on the phone, we immediately knew that she & Jesse were going to be a couple that we just couldn't wait to work with & get to know! These two put so much thought and planning into their engagement session, and we would be lying if we didn't confess that each of them made us (Kelsy) do a little happy dance! Included in their planning was Amy's grandparents' handmade quilt & vintage croquet set (love!!) as well as a little cupcake cuteness made by Amy's friend, and this was the perfect recipe for a fun Friday evening session. Amy's laugh is completely contagious, and Jess knows exactly how to pull it out of her :) We are so looking forward to more laughs, adorably planned out details, and sweet glances at their Door County wedding next month!!

A MOMENTARY AFTERNOON AWAY

Here at the McCartney household we've got all sorts of directions pulling this way and that. These changes are hugely exciting and can't come soon enough, but have been consuming our minds with excitement and worry (more on that later). Today we escaped reality for a moment, laughed and completely forgot about everything except each other :) A release much welcomed! What was the spark? Kelsy walked over to me early this afternoon, and with the kinda smile where she knows she's being adorable, asks me, "Do you want to take some pictures of me?!!" ... Well, now how can I resist ;)
